The fiber canopy builds strength with softness. The woven paper finds form through a series of 90-degree inversions. The canopy provides its own internal structure, touching the earth to become wall, then rising to transform into ceiling. Paper’s ability to bend and fold allows the canopy to bend up in response to the sloped site. The looseness of the strands varies throughout, creating distinct areas of light and shadow, while retaining a tight enough weave to ensure rigidity.
